FIBROMYALGIA- UNTREATABLE? |

Imagine
that you have pain all over. Your muscles ache and feel
like they are being pulled, they twitch and you burn all
the time. Worst of all, there are no lab tests or clear
diagnostic tools that indicate that you have something
wrong. Doctor’s dismiss you as having a psychological
disorder, which eventually could happen. Anyone having
chronic pain will sooner later become depressed and
subject to more illness that results from tremendous
stress. |

Most patients that have
Fibromyalgia have usually tried everything
seeking to find relief. Over the years, I have consulted
with many patients who are grasping at anything that
might give them relief. The conversation usually goes
like this…..” Have you tried Ibuprofen?- Yes. Tylenol?-
yes. codeine?- yes. MSM?-yes. Malic Acid?-yes.
Antioxidants?- Yes. Anti inflammatory diet? –yes. Did
any of these works? NO! |

In other words, these
patients have tried just about everything that is made
to help with chronic pain. I must admit, it’s very
frustrating for me to strike out on every attempt to
find that magic bullet. I particularly feel bad because
I genuinely believe that these people are suffering a
tremendous amount of pain, and no one has found the
formula they need to fix the problem. In fact when
someone comes in and tells me that they Fibromyalgia,
the only thing I can offer that I know will help is
Prayer. Recently, we began to carry a product that has
helped some of my patients. Mind you, they are not
getting 100% pain relief, but they can see enough
improvement to make them want to call me to report that
it’s the best thing they every tried short of narcotics.

I will be the first one to
tell you that this product may not work either. Also, I
would never try to harm my reputation by trying to take

shot. The company who makes this product (Mellen) has
several products that we can have been using with great
success. It’s important to also note that this product
has been used successfully to treat people with less
complex ,but just as aggravating, pain. I am one of the
large numbers of people who have always suffered from
neck pain. In my case, I wake up in the morning with a
chronic neck pain. It’s not so bad that I would take a
pain pill, but I do have to take an anti-inflammatory to
ease the suffering. Sometimes the pain persists and
causes my back to try to compensate. I slump my
shoulders and change my lifestyle to accommodate this
dull pain. I am told that this product has been very
helpful to treat this pain also. I am presently giving
it a try. |

This product works for many
because it’s the right combination of the ingredients
that are commonly used to treat these inflammatory
conditions. If you have tried our Penetran, you
may find this to be equally effective. If you’ve tried
Penetran and it did not work, you must try it, because
we have had a few patients report back excellent

REMINDER- CHANGE IN HOUSE
CHARGE ACCOUNTS |

Last month I wrote about the
change in policy we have instituted regarding our “House
Charge Accounts”. In short we will be discontinuing
“House Accounts” in the next 60 days. We have in place a
system that will give you the same flexibility and ease
that these accounts provided. You can continue to come
in or phone a prescription ( or any item) and have the
amount changed. We are simply requesting that you
provide us with a Credit Card that we can keep on file
for you. Instead of receiving a bill once a month, we
will charge your credit card as you make purchases. We
will continue to track your Prescription purchase for
your annul IRS report of Prescription expenditures. |

I am happy to report that we
probably have 30% of our patients with Credit Cards on
file now. To avoid any last minutes issues, I’d like to
request that you contact us, in any way, so we can
collect this information. The information is kept on our
banks’ secure website. No one can access this
information from our computer, because we don’t have
this information in our computer, other than the last
four digits of your credit card. You can change your
card or discontinue this method at any time Some have
chosen to use their credit card as they make their
purchases. Some will write checks or pay cash as they
go. We invite any and all methods of payment. We are
trying to make the transition easy and simple for all
concerned. If you chose not to keep your card on file,
let us know as soon as possible. We will not be upset;
we just want the best way to continue to make your
experience here delightful. |
